With the new infection alarming rate, it’s likely that health experts will have to advice President Uhuru Kenyatta to reintroduce strict measures to fight the new COVID-19 variant.

Dr. Andrew Gachie, the chief medical officer of Nairobi West Hospital, told reporters that patients are showing a myriad of new symptoms aside from the usual dry cough and fever.

Kenya on Wednesday recorded the highest number of positive COVID-19 infections since, over 713 more people contracted the virus out of 5230 samples tested for the disease.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is supposed to address the Nation on Friday 12th March on the Coronavirus pandemic.

The President addressed the nation last year November extending curfew to March 12th 2021, but still the citizens are not sure if he will uplift the curfew or extend it after there is a large increase of the infection.

Due to the alarming rate of infection does that mean that lockdown is looming? These is one of questions the public is asking looking forward to the presidential address tomorrow.

Kenya recently received the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine via the COVAX program, and currently the frontline health workers and uniformed police force are receiving the vaccine since they are at a high risk of contracting the virus.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Wednesday confirmed the third wave, with the Council of Governors asking the president to impose a 30-day ban on all political gatherings in his address today.

People are advised to wear mask, keep social distance, wash hands and avoid crowded places to reduce the spread of the virus.
