DIAR Awards: Kisumu Voted Best County on PWD Inclusion
The National Diversity and Inclusion Awards & Recognition, DIAR Awards 2020 took place last Friday, March 12, 2021.
It celebrates companies, government agencies, CSOs, NGOs, CBOs and individuals who champion diversity and promote inclusion in the workplace and socially cohesive society.
Governor Nyongo and Kisumu County representatives, including Madam Agwanda, were in attendance at the awards gala held at Nairobi’s Sarit Expo Center. Kisumu County was voted the best county in Kenya for PWD inclusion.
The organizations that thrives so well are those that the employees work in diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces.
DIAR Awards especially highlight outstanding achievements of institutions, organizations, and leaders who have developed practices and policies that foster and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in Kenya.
The Awards will illustrate some of the nation’s most inclusive organizations and focus on leading diversity champions, significant role models, and extraordinary individuals that have displayed motivation, innovation, and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Since 2018, the Diversity and Inclusion Awards Program has also been recognizing individuals or organizations showcasing exemplary insight and fortitude in the area of workplace diversity.

- Most inclusive listed company: Safaricom PLC
- Digital inclusion champion: Sylvia Mukasa
- Environmental conservation champion award: Julie Church
- Peace and cohesion champion: Amb, Dr Tegla Loroupe
- Best NGO on peace and cohesion: Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation
- Best parastatal on gender parity: Kenya Yearbook
- Best parastatal on PWDs inclusion: CEMASTEA Kenya
- Most inclusive commission: Commission on Administrative Justice
- The Most inclusive global brand in Kenya: Coca-Cola Beverages Africa
- Best tertiary institution/college on PWD inclusion: Kamwenja Teachers College
- Opportunity for Youth Employment award: Samasource
- Most inclusive social enterprise: Pallet Cafe
- Best NGO on the promotion of Human rights: Pangea Network
- Best collaborative approach award for CBO: The Kilgoris Project
- Best inclusive deployment of technology award: Linccell Technology
- PWD inclusion champion award: Feisal Mohammed
- Gender equality champion award: Caroline Chege
