Climate change has been a major problem in some parts of the country with most experiencing floods caused by the heavy downfall of rains, Northeastern has been the most affected area, definitely in every season they might encounter drought or floods.

The impacts of climate change affect livelihoods, food and water security, ecosystems, infrastructure.

According to the Climate Change Profile Kenya; it reveals that temperature will rise up to 2.5 degrees Celsius from 2000 to 2050, which means that rainfall will become more intense and less predictable.

The rainfall has become a death roll, leading to the loss of thousands of livestock, claiming lives and destruction of property.

To reduce these bizarre incidents caused by rains, control measures should be taken by the government as well as other state actors.

They should increase spending on flood defences, introduce water storage and harvesting facilities, as well as dams to improve the drainage system of the flood-prone areas.

No matter where you live, natural disasters like flooding are something to contend with.

Kenyans should expect heavy rains this week.

According to the Kenya Meteorological Department rainfall is expected over most parts of the country.

The Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley and the Central and South Valley, will have some parts experiencing rainfall in the morning, with Northeast and Northwest areas likely to experience strong south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25knots (12.9m/s).
