Kisumu All Star Basketball Fest Set For Tomorrow
Sun, cameras, action!! It’s about to be a super sporty Easter weekend here in our sunny city as Kisumu revs up to host a palpable, adrenaline-filled fun day for lovers of basketball, music, photo shoots, and cookouts, the Kisumu All-Star Basketball Fest 2023. It’s that moment to get your game locked and your rhythm on; strap up for s good time that you’ll remember for a long time.
The event will go all out in its full Kisumu basketball and urban lifestyle glory tomorrow, Saturday 8th of April, at Kisumu’s Jomo Kenyatta Sportsground basketball courts from 10 am.
On the cards will be some exciting basketball matchups with the Rising Stars game, the 3-point Shooting Contest, the Slam Dunk showdown, the sleek Hand’s Skills Challenge, Ladies All-Star, Celebrities versus Team Scratcho exhibition showpiece, and the glitzy and yet gritty Men’s All-Star game lined up. It’s the kind of up-on-your-seat-hands-on-your-head-mouth-wide-open kind of on-court action that your sporty bones need to get juiced this long holiday weekend. Absolutely.
The wholesome fun and sports event will have some spicy off-court servings too. There’ll be food stands under the leafy shade behind the courts, with nice grass cover for that picnic set up if the urge bites, good live Dj music powered by a Coca-Cola truck, juice, and milk bars, sodas, and water for refreshments and some choice frothy drinks for those who must imbibe a more strong liquid. The proceedings will be M’ceed by a dope duo of Drani of Urban Radio and Migun, the Kuna Kuna dancing chief.
Do you still want to miss out? No? I thought so too. You’re welcome to show.
Sitting stands with sheds to protect fans from the elements will be placed courtside for that ultimate in-game crowd experience. Ladies, you can comfortably have your premier makeup on.
The official All-Star kit was unveiled last Wednesday 5th, by the official kit sponsors Crunch Time Sports, and man, aren’t they a dazzle! Other corporates and individuals have also come on board to give the organizers, KCBL (Kisumu Classic Basketball League), a boost in raising the standards of its premier annual event.
“This year we focused on roping in more sponsors and partners to help us achieve the full scope and vision we have for this production and we are grateful for those who’ve seen value in it and decided to walk with us. The door is still open to any corporates or individual wanting to partner with us in a mutually beneficial relationship. We look forward to giving our Kisumu people and visitors a show worth their time” said Oliver Nyawanda, the KCBL coordinator.
There’s about to be a one of its kind, once in a long time super basketball gig up in this lakeside city attended by coaches, players, leaders and tourists from all over the 254. To you all, Karibu Dala Basketball.
