National Land Management in Kenya goes Digital
Ministry of Land and Physical Planning has launched an ArdhiSasa digital platform for the National Land Management System (NLMS).
The official launch which was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the National Geospatial Data Centre in Nairobi is set to bring change when it comes to matters, land.
The platform can now be accessible to citizens at the comfort of their home.
The platform will allow lodging, processing and tracking of transactions on land in the response to the need for digitization of manual records.
“Today we roll out a wholly digital and world-class registry in Nairobi. The digitalisation of land services will be rolled out to the rest of the country in a phased and gradual manner as we incorporate feedback from users” Said, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The first phase will only target Nairobi with a cover of up to 240,000 sectional properties.
The digital map will give accurate pictures of natural resources.
The President also added:
“At the click of a button, users will now be able to search and carry out various land transactions, drastically reducing human interactions, delays and other inconveniences previously experienced at land registries”.
The platform is expected to reduce land conflicts experienced by families earlier and to prevent errors for future transactions.
