What movies or series have you settled on for this weekend? Which releases are you looking forward to this year? I’ve just checked out the official trailer of FAST X, explosive!

That’s the nature of that franchise. It goes boom every time. The odd thing is, I have yet to watch F9., why you may ask? Well, it’s because I chose not to. Here’s why…

First Love Cuts Deepest

Firstly, I love a well-written, gripping storyline tempered with good action sequences in my flicks and shows. They immerse me, and I soak in all that good stuff any movie does with good production. I will watch it to its last episode if it’s a complete series. If it’s a movie, I do heavy rotation. Have you ever played John Wick, the original John Wick, over and over? Coach Carter? Takers? No? Not even Creed? Yes of course, you did.

Such movies or tv shows get you hooked, line and sinker.

Now, this is where the issue starts with me. Good movies or shows get production houses good money. They become meal tickets, and no one wants to let go of their lunch. The result is that we have to get sequels of some of these blockbusters and seasons upon seasons of the hit tv shows. As can be seen. some become franchises with spin-offs.

Intrigue and Oomph

The scriptwriters of Fast and Furious, now FAST X tend to overstretch the storylines or overdo the action. They as a result become too colorful, racy, and wind to keep the numbers at the box office high or the eyeballs on tv glued. This always ruins my initial super experience with these pictures and takes off the intrigue making it drag. To avoid this, I say no more of this show’s seasons or this movie’s franchise.

I did stop watching John Wick after they gave us a second. Similarly, I stopped watching Money Heist at season 4 and recently got influenced by a friend to watch Wakanda Forever after putting it off for quite a while… I could go on and on. Once it loses that oomph factor, loses the intrigue and binding suspense, it loses me.

It’s like listening and jamming to a perfect song. The remix comes out and has all these new feelings and ideas to make the music be liked or played more. Still, it doesn’t cut it for you, as you are stuck to the original rhythm and composition.

Unforced Continuity

Sure, some sequels outdo the originals, and some subsequent seasons are better than the first ones, but those are the few slip-throughs. The majority go downhill for me. Get me an excellent continuity writer like those who did Prison Break or Breaking Bad. If I am to go on and on with a show. In short, don’t just pack action upon action with minimal story depth for a movie, and I will be back.

Fast X Release Date

Fast X is premiering this May, on 19th. Mega Cinemas Kisumu will be screening it in 3D for an immersive experience. It is difficult to predict precisely how the ever-growing Fast and Furious family will be featured in the 10th movie of the series. However, most major characters introduced throughout the years will return to provide thrilling and seemingly illogical car chases.

Keep it here for the updates as the day nears.
